Fancy a hiking challenge in the Bruche Valley ?
Discover our selection of 7 local iconic summits, within reach from our house, and become a 7er. The rule is basic : reach these places in one row or in several occasions (the current record is 2 days...), take a selfie there, and send us your 7 selfies to be part of the community !
1- La Chatte Pendue (900 m)
Start from l'étang de La Falle (Champenay) or from the maison forestière de Salm through the ruins of the Salm Castle, and enjoy a fantastic scenic view over the Donon and the Bruche Valley.
2- La Haute Loge (934 m)
A special magic atmosphere in this isolated shelter made of stone, on a summit among the heathers... 360° panorama view and wild vibes, like a Nordic smell.
3- Le Donon (1008 m)
We could not miss this iconic spot of the Bruche Valley : a roman temple on the top of a Vosgian summit ! An easy walk from the Col du Donon explains its local notoriety. Really worth the hike !
4- Le Climont (965 m)
Start from the Fraise Parking spot in Bourg-Bruche via the source of the Bruche river, or from the Climont hamlet. Fantastic view from the top of the tower...
5- La Roche des Fées (793 m)
Also known as Voyemont, this small and cute summit will drag you through the clearing of the Hang, a hidden gem away from any main road.
6- Le Rocher des Enfants (809 m)
Start from Saales or Bourg-Bruche, make the small detour from the chapel to ring its bell and read about its surprising story ! The odds are, you will be alone on this rock...
7- Le Houdimont (817 m)
The less known from all, maybe due to the 2 difficulties to reach it from the Col du Hantz.
You will need a good navigation, and to tackle steep portions with a gradient of > 20%. The path is not marked but mentioned on the ordnance map. You may go for a dynamic bushwacking following the old milestones of the former French-German border from 1871.

The brand new tarred cycle path going from Strasbourg to Saales (70 km) passes by the house : winding through the forest, it also allows you to reach a network of country roads and tracks linking nearby villages and picturesque hamlets.
Tip : cycle down the path to Strasbourg, discover the city and come back by direct train to our house !
Off-track lovers, bring along your mountain bikes ! We also have plenty of forest tracks to recommend...
We will not compete with the well-built Alsace Tourist Office website, which will give you a thorough presentation of our region.
